Louis POUZIN

Louis POUZIN has acquired an international reputation as an expert in computer communications and network techniques. Most of his career has been devoted to the design and implementation of computer systems, such as CTSS the first large time sharing system at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, or the CYCLADES computer network and its datagram based packet switching network, model later adopted by Internet as TCP-IP.

Besides his capacity in leading teams of top professionals, he is known internationally for his participation in early network standardisation activities within IFIP, ISO and CCITT (now ITU-T), and his numerous publications, many of them have become educational material in network courses. As a lecturer, he is especially appreciated for presenting complex subjects in clear and understandable terms.

He graduated from École Polytechnique in Paris. He is past chairman of IFIP-TC-6 (data communications). He has published more than 80 articles and a book on computer networks. Among awards he received: IFIP Silver Core, ACM SIGCOMM, IEEE Internet, ISOC Hall of Fame, and Chevalier of Légion d’Honneur.

Presently he is project director with EUROLINC, a non profit organization for promoting native languages in Internet. He is also president of the company Savoir-Faire that offers the Open-Root model for the management of top level domain names.

the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee, Robert Kahn, Vinton Cerf, Louis Pouzin and Marc Andreessen will share the £1m award, and H.M. Queen Elizabeth II will give them their reward on June 25 during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The citation panel said the five men had all contributed to the revolution in communications that has taken place in recent decades.
The UK government initiated the QE Prize as a companion to the Nobels to raise the profile of engineering.

Chantal Lebrument

Operating since the late 80s in networks, expert in domain names (DNS) technical management, she specializes in industrial projects related to internet. Since 1997 she manages programs in the industry (domain names, websites and corporate event). Such investment of industrial life gives her a clear view of the complexity of a global internet from problems related to cultural differencies to technical barriers, real or invented, which mark the web today.

She is Eurolinc’s president, a lobbying non-profit organization working for international multilingualism and better governance in the Internet. She has participated in the WSIS summits process, in 2003 and 2005, and all the annual meetings of the IGF in Geneva in 2003 in Baku in 2012. This involvement gives her a good understanding of the international environment and the challenges and pressures of Internet governance in the world.

Quentin Perrigueur

He is a web journalism academic specialist, majored in web projects management . Whether for music festivals where he manages several hundred people or a health prevention network, he specialized in the administrator role. Organizing campaigns and online recruitment, he developed an expertise in the use of internet today.

EUROLINC Association Member, he discovers the challenges of internet governance and has been involved for several years in various studies of the association and integrated the Open-Root project from creation.
