Cyclades project
Valerie Schafer’s PhD, Paris-Sorbonne in 2007, was based on contemporary History about data networks in France.
She worked under the direction of Professor P.Griset. She specializes in the history of telecommunications and computing and, in her thesis, Valerie Schafer studied the development of packet switched data networks under Louis Pouzin’s ieadership in the 1970s (Cyclades project).
Meeting places and methods of these teams exchanges were analyzed, as well as the formal and informal discussions that shape scientific knowledge but also its promotion and recognition.
